As the Public Education and Information Specialist for the Department of Public Safety, Nevada State Fire Marshal (SFM), Michelle has been instrumental in facilitating statewide prevention activities.
Michelle currently serves the Association as the State Fire Marshal's Office Liaison and serves on the Statewide Coalition Committee. Michelle is also the Treasurer of FEMA Region IX's Prevention Advocacy Resource and Data Exchange (PARADE).
She is an active member of the Nevada Champion Management Team of
Risk Watch through the National Fire Protection Association and provides support to the Youth
Firesetting Intervention Program. Michelle was a major asset in the Association's statewide expansion.
Michelle manages grant programs specific to fire service training, prevention, and public safety; educates communities regarding injury prevention and life safety; provides intervention for youth who start fires; and assists fire departments with grant applications. She also administers the SFM and PARADE-Region IX lending library, which makes educational material available to community agencies.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, and has a background in human resource, educational, and retail/restaurant management. She has pursued entry-level firefighter and medical service training.
