Mike Hecht - Northeastern Regional Representative

Mike Hecht joined the fire service in 1986 with the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Within one year, he became a seasonal fire fighter with Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), which transitioned into a full-time fire fighter job with Spring Creek Station One.

Mike worked as an 18-year fire fighter for NDF before accepting the promotional position of Fire Marshal with Elko City Fire Department in 2005. Mike has been instrumental in facilitating fire and life safety, training, public education, and intervention programs. In 2009, due to budgetary restructuring, Fire Marshal Hecht became the Deputy Chief / Fire Marshal, and hired Deputy Fire Marshal Josh Carson to further expand the City of Elko Fire Prevention Bureau.
