Michelle Peltier - Vice-President of FPAN &

Michelle has coordinated and assisted with numerous programs specific to prevention, fire-service training, and grants since 2002. Michelle is proud to serve as Vice President for FPAN and as Co-Director for the Washoe County Youth Firesetting Intervention Program. As FPAN’s former secretary and northern representative, she has been instrumental in facilitating statewide public education and fire/life safety activities. She holds Nevada Public Fire and Life Safety Education Specialist III, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist II, and International Code Council Fire Inspector I certifications.

Michelle currently manages a local smoke-alarm installation and home-safety program for the City of Sparks as well as a regional fire-and-life safety program that teaches school staff members to recognize fire-safety concerns, to operate portable fire extinguishers, and to teach general fire-safety awareness messages. The goal is for the two grant-funded programs to serve as pilot programs for the rest of the state

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and is one class away from her Associates Degree in Fire Science. To gain a better understanding of the fire service, she pursued entry-level firefighter training. Michelle began her current position as fire inspector for the Sparks Fire Department, Fire Prevention Bureau after four years of working with Nevada’s fire-service agencies through the State Fire Marshal Division. She lives in Northern Nevada with her two sons.
