Example 1

Bob Smith has been with the Nevada Fire Department full-time since 2000, following 6 years as a volunteer. During the last twelve years, Bob has given thousands of volunteer hours, many professional hours, and countless financial donations toward public-education programs focused on fire prevention and injury reduction.

He puts his heart and soul into helping Nevada's citizens stay safe and make smart choices. Bob believes that the best way to do this is to empower people to "live smart", through education and experience.

Called upon numerous times to go above and beyond "normal-duty" assignments, this devoted nominee demonstrates an outstanding work ethic and an unwavering positive attitude toward both fellow firefighters and citizens in the community.

Bob is a highly valued member of the department and is certainly a strong candidate to consider for the first-ever calendar of the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada.

Example 2

Bob Smith is a firefighter/EMT who is also on call 24 hours a day as the public information officer for the Nevada Fire Department. This year's call rate has been very high, yet this nominee has shown tireless devotion on and off duty, answering the needs of the department and the public.

Bob voluntarily attained intervention training to work with youth who start fires. We rely on Bob as a strong member of our youth-firesetter intervention and public education team. Bob Smith is indispensable to this fire department and the community.

Please consider Bob Smith for the 2008 Fire Prevention Association of Nevada calendar.
